Hello,
just visited your heavy ses website. nice to see the pictures. this
proves
that I'm not the only one who always gets the bad weather.
the picture I send you is not so extreme as the ones on your website,
but
you might still like it.
I have taken the picture from the 6 deck high bridge. It was on the
trip
from Vancouver, BC, canada to Singapore november 2002. we we're fully
loaded with peas in bulk. we we're loaded to our max summer draft wich
is
around 9.60 mtrs. during this wheater we received an bilge alarm from
the
bowthruster room. after inspection we found out that the forecaslte
was
flooded with sea water. a lot of damage because also the paintstore
was
crashed. It was like a bom was exploded over there. all electricity
was
dead. including switch cabinets from the 2 anchor winches.
the ship is the M/V "Marissa Green". It's a 17.500 DWT general cargo
ship
sailing the dutch flag. port of registration is Rotterdam. ship is
managed
by Genchart BV(www.genchart.nl).
Best regards,
Guido FLiek, 2nd Engineer
